The paste route asks Wix users to find a panel most never open

A pasted snippet needs the site's custom-code settings, the right load position, and the site's domain on your allowed list. Each is one setting, but they live in three places — and the code panel is only available on some Wix plans at all.

Press Add to Wix

Open your bot's Install tab, find Wix in the platform list, and press Add to Wix. Wix's installer asks you to approve the Matter Chat app for your site; approving it brings you straight back to the dashboard. If you started from the Wix App Market instead, we first ask which bot the install is for — the result is the same.

We apply the script for you

This is the step that makes the app different from the snippet: there is no code to paste and no panel to find. The moment the install lands, we embed the widget script on your site through Wix's Embedded Scripts API and pre-allow the site's domain.

The script

Embedded on every page of the site with your bot's public key — the same pinned loader the snippet carries.

The domain

The site's host — your own domain, or the free wixsite.com one — joins the bot's allowed list, so the widget answers on the first load.

Re-apply after big site changes

The connection is idempotent: Re-apply on the Wix card runs the same embed and domain steps again, which is the cheap fix after the site moves to a different domain or the first apply was interrupted. Running it twice changes nothing that was already right.

Remove it in two halves when you no longer want it

Uninstalling Matter Chat from your site's Wix dashboard removes the app and the script it embedded — the widget comes off the site, and the Install tab shows the connection as removed. Disconnect on the Wix card is the other half: it takes the script off and unlinks the site on our side, but the app itself stays installed on Wix until you uninstall it there. The domains the install added stay on your allowed list until you remove them in the bot's settings.
