Account & Data Deletion
How to delete your Matter Chat account and the data that goes with it. Matter Chat is operated by Mohammed Banani, trading as Matter Chat — the developer named on our app store listings. Deletion is available in the app, on the web, or by email; all three end in the same place.
1.Delete from the mobile app
- Open Matter Chat and go to More → Account & Security → Delete Workspace.
- Type your workspace's name, then type DELETE to confirm.
- Deletion is immediate and permanent. There is no grace period and no recovery.
2.Delete from the web
- Sign in at app.matterchat.co and open Dashboard → Account.
- Scroll to the Danger zone and choose Delete workspace, then confirm.
- Only the workspace owner sees this section; team members should ask the owner or use the email route below.
3.Request deletion by email
If you cannot sign in — or you want only part of your data removed without closing the account — write to [email protected] from the email address on the account. A person reads that address. We verify the request against the account email and complete it within 30 days, almost always much sooner.
4.What is deleted, and what is kept
Deleting your workspace permanently removes: every assistant and its configuration, all conversations and transcripts, captured leads and contact details, uploaded knowledge files and crawled content, API keys, team memberships, and your sign-in identity for the app.
| Data | After deletion |
|---|---|
| Assistants, conversations, leads, knowledge, API keys | Deleted immediately |
| Sign-in identity and team memberships | Deleted immediately |
| Invoices and payment records | Kept by our payment processor for the legally required accounting period |
| Product analytics and error reports (no message content) | Expire on our analytics provider's retention schedule |
Independent of account deletion, conversation attachments already expire automatically by plan: Trial after 7 days, Starter after 30 days, Growth after 90 days, Agency after 180 days.
